Wu Caicong

      Wu Caicong, male, born in June 1975, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Big Data Department of the School of Information and Electrical Engineering of China Agricultural University, director of the Key Laboratory of Agricultural Machinery Operation Monitoring and Big Data Application of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, secretary-general of the Precision Agricultural Technology and Equipment Branch of China Agricultural Machinery Industry Association, and director of the General Technology Department of the Satellite Navigation Joint Research Center of the Ministry of Education. In 1997, he graduated from Henan University of Science and Technology with a bachelor's degree in agricultural machinery, and in 2003, he graduated from Jilin University with a doctor's degree in agricultural mechanization engineering. From 2003 to 2012, he worked in the Institute of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System of Peking University. From January 2014 to May 2015, he was engaged in visiting scholar research at Texas A&M University.

      The main research direction is agricultural machinery navigation and big data analysis. He has presided over more than 20 projects including national key research and development plans, digital agriculture construction pilot projects of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and satellite application projects of the National Development and Reform Commission. It won one first prize of provincial and ministerial science and technology progress award, one science and technology cooperation award of Xinjiang Corps, "Beidou Satellite Navigation Application Promotion Contribution Award" of China Satellite Navigation Annual Conference, and "Person of the Year Award" of China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association. He has published more than 50 academic papers, edited the textbook of Navigation and Positioning Principle and Agricultural Application and the book of Application of Beidou in Agricultural Production. He served as the editorial board member of the International Journal of Agriculture and Bioengineering (IJABE) and the member of the National Agricultural Mechanization Science and Technology Innovation Expert Group. He presided over the construction of a big data platform for agricultural machinery operation based on Beidou, accessed 428000 agricultural machinery of all kinds, and organized the preparation of "Beidou+Agricultural Machinery Operation Monitoring" reports such as "Wheat Harvest News" to be released on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and received reports from the Farmers' Daily, Science and Technology Daily, CCTV-17 Channel, and Beidou official website.

As the name implies, this technology realizes the detection and selection of foreground genes and genetic background at the same time. The selection of foreground and background is two very important steps in molecular breeding. At present, breeders often need to carry out these two steps independently: first, screen foreground target sites, and then develop a large number of probes/bait/PCR primers to detect background genotypes. These time-consuming and costly preparations greatly delay the start of breeding projects.
